We absorbed the database from twinturbo.com when it shut down and that became the basis for twinturbo.net in the beginning. We wrote all of our own code but wanted to make sure that the first year of information was not lost.
That's also why you'll see there are no profiles on those original message authors because the original site had no concept of user profile. You had to put your name and email in every time you posted. (Bleh!!!) :)
